Congratulations to our December S.T.A.R.: Joseph Pelren
August: Bailey Spencer
September: Melodi Clayton
October: Robyn Armatys
November: Maliki Constantino
I hope your family had a wonderful Christmas break together. I certainly
enjoyed the time I had with my family and even got to make a quick trip to
Florida for our 37th wedding anniversary to enjoy some 74 degree weather.
Now I'm looking forward to seeing "my" school children and hear about the
good times they had too. I hope you have a wonderful new year!
Please check with your child to make sure they have a plentiful supply of
glue, crayons, checking pens, and scissors.
We could also use Kleenex, Clorox-Wipes, and paper towels if you want to help
with that need as well. Some of you have been very generous in making those
donations, and I certainly appreciate your doing that for our classroom.
We are working very hard on multiplication facts and will continue to do that
until we have worked with numbers 1-10 x 10. Please work with your child
each night to help them learn their facts. We will do a lot of drill and
practice at school, but a lot will need to be done at home for them to master
these facts.
Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for school. We will play
outside as often as possible throughout the winter so make sure they have
jackets/coats, gloves, etc.
S.T.A.R. Selection each month: This selection is done by the teacher and is
based on good citizenship in our school and in our room, overall good
behavior, turning work in on time with their name on it, and being
respectful to everyone. It is a real honor to be selected and the students
receive special gifts in this school-wide assembly. Family members are
invited to attend to see their child honored so it is a very special time. I
hope every child will strive to be a S.T.A.R. this year!
Thank you!
