As many of you already know I am not a classroom teacher anymore. I supervise
the reading groups in the book room. There are four times Tuesday through
Friday mornings that Tyner reading groups meet in the book room and small
room next to the book room. Two groups meet at the same time. Sometimes when
an Educational Assistant is out, I teach their reading groups for them.
Teachers email the skills which they will be using in the coming weeks so I
can pull activities to be used in small group instruction, stations, or in
whole group instruction which enhance student learning to make reading fun in
the classroom. I supervise the Triumphs reading program where two retired
teachers share a part time reading interventionist position. They work with
four reading groups daily.
