Classroom Happenings

3rd Grade

Singing is a big part of our curriculum and this year's third graders are
super singers. Students are learning to improve their steady beat, read
music, perform rhythm patterns, and play music games like the street
game "Circle 'round the zero." Best of all, the classes enjoy using balls,
hoola hoops and jumping ropes to apply musical concepts. Students even ate
worms one day because everyone felt sad 'cause "Nobody loves me, ev'rybody
hates me... think I'll go eat worms."

4th Grade

Fourth grade students are the best! We sing, move, dance, play instruments,
do rhythm exercises, and use anything available to create musical sounds.
Patriotic songs are at the top of our "to know" list and Tennessee songs and
American folk songs will always be a part of our classwork.

5th Grade

The fifth grade students have been very busy preparing for the annual MES
Veteran's Day program. The entire script for this celebration has been
written by these students and focuses on the goodness of America and her
people. You'll want to attend this very special program as we join in song
and spirit to honor our Veterans.
