We have had a terrific first day of school at MES! We want to welcome everyone back and the new
people as well. It is going to be a fabulous year!!
We will host a Parent Orientation Night on August 12. The third grade will meet at 6:00, fourth
grade at 6:30, and fifth grade at 7:00. It will be an informational meeting pertaining to your
child's classroom policies and procedures. Please mark you calendar and plan to be with us!
School supply lists for Martin Elementary Students can be found at Wal Mart, We Care, and Dollar
General in Martin. We Care Ministries, Inc. will be giving away school supplies to families in
need on July 28, 29, and 31. They will do it again on August 4, 5, 6, and 7. The times the
supplies may be picked up are 9:30-11:30 and 1:00-3:00.
We have some new faces at Martin Elementary. Mrs. Kim Smith is the new secretary.
New teachers include: Ms. Shannon Hazlewood, Jennifer Roney, and Rachel Bearden all in third
grade. Ms. Laura Kelley will be new to the fourth grade and Mrs. Cindi Cook is the new
school counselor, and Mrs. Kandi Parker is the new P.E. instructor. We also have a new
Educational Assistant on staff and her name is Melissa
Stanfill. We extend warm welcome wishes to each of these ladies.
The building is getting a little face lift. There will be new carpet in the office complex and
library. The teacher's work room and lounge area will sport new tile. Several of the rooms have
been painted. Outside, the two paved areas have new sealer applied. We hope all of you will
enjoy our new look.
