Happy New Year everyone!!! I'm so excited about our new year and all of its
opportunities. Just wanted to share a few announcements about the upcoming
year. First of all we have a new neat gadget in our room called a
Promethean board. It is an interactive white board with tons of
possibilites. We are all so excited about this new educational resource.
There will soon be a new face in our classroom. Ms. Katie Evans, a
student from UTM, will be student teaching in our classroom. I'll give you
more information about Ms. Katie in the coming week. She will begin her
experience on Jan. 19th.
Congratulations to Viviana Rodriguez-Rico who is our December S.T.A.R.
student.
Remember that I can only give the award to the student who acts
responsibly. Your responsibilites include getting your homework, getting
your agenda signed, following directions, and staying on task.

Below is our behavior plan for this school year. The students have been
doing an awesome job of following the rules.
Behavior Plan 2010
1. Conduct Chart- The student will receive a conduct chart at the beginning
of each week that will be taped to their desk. There is a list of behavior
codes at the bottom of the chart to tell how much will be deducted for each
behavior. The student will get the chart signed and brought back each
week. If the student receives at least an 85 each week for a month, they
will earn a FUN FRIDAY. If the student does not earn at least an 85 each
week, they will not be able to participate in FUN FRIDAY. The first FUN
FRIDAY will be Aug. 28th.
2. Button Jar- The students as a class will earn buttons in a jar for acts
of kindness, correct answers to questions, respectfulness, etc. If the
class earns fifteen in one week, they will be rewarded with listening to
music on Friday during one class period.
3. RECESS- I am trying to get away from taking recess with rewarding the
FUN FRIDAY, however I will write the word RECESS on the board. The class as
a whole will lose 5 min. for each letter of the word if they continue to
disobey as a whole.
4. Study Hall- The students who do not finish their work during class time
will have to finish their work during study hall. This is during recess
time.
