What's going on?

Many Many Many thanks for all the goodies we had for our party.  The children
ate and ate!  We had a marvelous time!  Thank you all for the gifts and for
all your support so far this year.  We have a great deal of work ahead.  
Enjoy your holidays and stay safe.  I'm looking forward to seeing all my
kiddos NEXT YEAR! :D

Students return to school on Tuesday, January 5.  Please send snacks.  We're
completely snacked out!

Toy Day will be on Friday, January 8.  Toy Day will not be rescheduled in the
event that school is dismissed for snow.  Toys should fit into your child's
backpack and be something that can be shared during the day.  Do not send
NintendoDS, PSP or any expensive toys.  Broken items cannot be replaced by the
school. Small items such as Barbie's shoes, etc. should be left at home.

Please send snacks when you can. Remember that snacks that are prepackaged in
portion sizes are easiest for us to handle.  We now have 20 students in our class.

Our sight words are: I, a, am, an, as, at, be, by, do, go, he, if in, is, it,
me, like, can, you, see
Our numbers are: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11 and 12
We've added the number words from zero to twelve this week.

Practice recognizing numbers and number words to 12 at least.
We are working on skip counting by 2’s, 5’s and 10’s.
Count down from 10-1.  Begin working on counting past your child’s “bump”. 
The “bump” is that speed bump the child comes to when counting, typically
after 29 or 39.  We’ll be working on that as well.

Keep reviewing /o/, /d/,/i/, /r/, /n/, /p/,/s/, /c/,/a/, f/,/m/, /t/ and /b/
and writing capital and lower case s,c,a,f,m,t,p,n,r,o and d.

Please remember to have your child return library books on Tuesdays and wear
tennis shoes on Fridays for P.E.  Your child's back pack is a wonderful place
to keep library books safe from pets and younger siblings!
