Mr. Rogers' 5th Grade Class

There are only a few more weeks of school left! Be sure to check the calendar for some upcoming important events.
Cleveland Middle School Orientation will be Tuesday, May 8th. Please send in your permission slip and completed registration form.
The Beta Club banquet will be Thursday, May 10th at Johnston Woods. (6:00 p.m.)
5th Grade Graduation will be Tuesday, May 22nd at Broadstreet Methodist. (6:00 p.m.)
Students now have their own personal access to the ixl math program. They can practice every skill that they will be tested on in 5th grade! I can also monitor and record their progress. They can log on by performing the following steps:

1. Go to "www.ixl.com/signin/mayfield
2. Using their first initial and last name as their user name.
ex. mrogers
3. Using their lunch number as their password.

The 5th grade has practiced more than 15,000 problems!

The Math Textbook is now online. Just click on the link on the left side of my page. Your user ID (and password) is your Successmaker number with an extra "0" added to the front of it.

Behavior System:

The 5th grade teachers are now distributing tickets to students who are following directions, being exceptional role models, and/or are making academic progress in the classroom. These tickets can then be used to buy priviledges. Priviledge prices are shown below.

1 ticket = recess
2 tickets = reward day (plus school requirements)
3 tickets = unscheduled restroom break, return trip to homeroom, extra pencil or eraser
10 tickets = coke day (every other Friday), computer time
20 tickets = homework or computer pass
30 tickets = treasure chest trip
40 tickets = dinner theater with a friend
* tickets can also be used to buy back recess time if a student has a check on his/her credit sheet
