Exposition- the beginning</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- introduces the characters, setting, and background</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">2. Rising Action- starts to get good</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- here, a problem is introduced</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">3. Climax- the peak of the mountain; the turning point; OMG moment!</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- this is the most exciting part of the story that makes you gasp</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- the character has to make a decision about how to handle the problem</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">4. Falling Action- this is where we head back down the mountain</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- the story starts to come to a close</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- we see the consequences of the climax</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">5. Resolution- the end</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- the story is wrapped up</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- problems are resolved</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt"><BR></P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt"><STRONG>Theme</STRONG>- the central message that the author is trying to convey</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- can be viewed as a lesson or a moral as well</P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- ask yourself, "What is the author trying to tell me?" <BR></P> <P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 10pt">- think of "Making Music" from the magazine we read.
