Let Me Introduce Myself

I am Coach Gary Dunlap and am so happy to be starting my second year at
Medina Middle School. Last year was a great year and I look forward to this
year. I would like to tell you something about myself. I have been
teaching and coachig for over 25 years. My coaching and teaching experience
spans 4 states, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Florida. I graduated from
Dresden High School where I played basketball for 4 years. Entering the
University of Tennessee at Martin I majored in Health and Physical Eduction
and graduated in 1974 with a BS degree. In 1979 I received my Master's in
Education from Morehead State University, Morehead, Kentucky.

My wife is Barbara and we were married in 1969 at the end of our first year
of college. We celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary in June of this
year. She is a Manager of the Dresden Senior Apartments in Dresden,
Tennessee. We have one son, Zach. He graduated from Murray State Univerity
with a degree in Finance and Economics. He is presently the Branch
Manager/ Financial Specialist of the US Branch Bank at Kentucky Oaks Mall in
Paducah, Kentucky. July 1, 2006 we were so proud to add a daughter-in-law to
our family. Zach married Miss Lauren Finney of Dresden. She has a Masters
Degree from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in Social Work. Lauren
is a Social Worker at the Four Rivers Behavioral Health Counseling Center in
Paducah,
Kentucky.

We have one other member in our family and that is "Junior" our 17 pound, 16
year old Tabby Cat.

Mission For The Class

Since I was in Elementary School History and Georgraphy have both been two
of my favorite classes. My desire for the students in my History and
Geography classes would be that they would realize what a great country we
live in. That I would be able to instill a love for the "HISTORY" of this
great nation which we live in.
