Classwork/Homework 33%
Quizzes 33%
Test 34% x2

Is the homework posted in your room on the board daily?
Yes. Your child can recheck their planner many times before school is
dissmissed. I post all homework on the medium-sized (We all have homework
boards and it is posted in the hallway)
--------------------------------------
Should my child have this much homework?
A 40 minute study hall is built into the daily schedule. This is a time that
is a quiet, noise free environment for students to work in. Students SHOULD
NOT come home with piles of homework. If they are, then they are NOT using
their studyhall time wisely. Students have library one day a week that will
cut out their studyhall time. This is the only day during the week unless a
pep rally is scheduled.
--------------------------------------
How do I know how my child is doing before I receive the report card?
15 day reports go out on the 15th day of each six weeks. This is a great way
to know if your child is starting out the six weeks correctly.
--------------------------------------
How do I know what my child has for homework if he/she doesn't tell me?
The planner. The planner is a wonderful tool if it is used correctly. Each
classroom teacher posts the homework for that night and it is the students
responsiblity to write down the assignments each day when they leave.
If a student still is not writing the assignments down each day for you to
be helpful at home, tell your child to have each teacher sign the planner.
Also, this website. Teachers are supposed to post homework assignments daily
for you to look up on teacherweb.com.

What is expected of my child in the 7th grade?
Check out the Tennessee state standards at:

--------------------------------------
What is the 3 strikes your out discipline program?
* A student receives a check for misbehavior, minor misbehavior such as gum
chewing, talking, and no homework. Three check marks during the alloted time
period will equal a strike. The school wide strike policy is below:
*1st strike your child receives a referral home for you to sign and is
documented. This is the WARNING strike.
*2nd strike you will receive a telephone call from the teacher and a
referral home for you to sign. Your child will have Tuesday School on the
next assigned day.
*3rd strike you will receive a telephone call from the principal or Mrs. A.
Casey for seventh grade students and your child will be suspended for 3 days
in or out of school depending on the types of things your child was given
checks for.
--------------------------------------
Can I send something for my child's birthday in the 7th grade?
Of course you can, we always are up for goodies in our classroom. A bag of
candy for homeroom would be great!
--------------------------------------
If my child loses his/her planner, can I buy another one?
Yes, the cost is $5.00 and you must purchase it through the office.
--------------------------------------
What is the NEW state wide grading scale?
A 100-93
B 92-85
C 84-75
D 74-70
F 69-0
--------------------------------------
Can my child take AR tests at anytime?
Yes and No. If the teacher of the class your child is in has finished her
teaching then your child should ask to take a test if there is no other
assignemnts due at that time. The teacher should allow them to take a test
either in the library during an open time with Mrs. Rainey or Coach Moore
and Mrs. McKinney have avaliable computers open at any time. But remember
they have classes as well. So, the decision must okay by all parties
involved.
--------------------------------------
Can my child use his/her cell phone at school?
NO, it may not be used in the school building. Students may have phones in
his/her book bag turned off. If we have an emergency situation where
students need to call home, the principal of the school may then ask
students to call you.
If your child is sick they may NOT text/call you; they have to go through
the proper channels and that is through our nurse in the office. If your
child is caught doing this, he/she will lose their phone and proper
disciplinary actions will be taken through the office. A parent has to come
to the office to pick up cell phones taking away during the school day.
