Mrs. McNatt's Grading Policy

My policy has always been that I do not take late homework, except for
absences. The assignment is due in class when it is called for. If
exceptions are made, it is not fair to the students who have done their work
on time, and also, it creates a problem if all students think that they can
turn work in late. I have always allowed students to bring me an assignment
after class if it was left in their locker. I do remind them, and I need to
remind parents as well, that next year in high school they will not be
allowed to return to lockers to get assignments. We are trying to teach
them to be responsible and to be ready for high school.

When we have an assignment in class, I usually always give the students
time to begin in class. If they do not finish in class, the remainder is
for homework. I take it up the next day to be graded. All of these
assignments are daily grades and count once. I usually give short quizzes
on material gone over and these quiz grades count once.

Students get a free "100" each Friday for turning in their weekly Daily Oral
Language practice sheet. They also have a Daily ORal Language Test every
Friday. These are short quizzes on the material we have been over on the
practice sheets. These also count once.
