I am originally from Murray, KY where I attended Murray State University and
received a Masters of Science in Speech/Language Pathology. My husband, Bill
Kastner and I live in Medina and have two boys. Alex is 12 and is in the 7th
grade at MMS and Darron is 3 and LOVES spending his days at Medina Christian
Learning Center. Bill is a project manager at Procter & Gamble in Jackson.
We enjoy going to the lake, riding bikes, playing cards and
attending First United Methodist Church in Milan. I have also recently
taken up the art of cake decorating!
There is a huge amount of fulfillment in helping children communicate
effectively. Communication is the pathway to learning and opening up that
pathway is the key to improving learning potential and motivation.
Communication skills are most effective when using age appropriate speech
sound production, nice clear fluent speech, correct grammar, age appropriate
vocabulary, listening skills and appropriate expression of ideas. Areas of
communication need will be taught to students to enhance his/her learning
and social environments.
