IT'S A MARSHMALLOW WORLD! October 23, 2007 Leaves changing colors; crisp, cool air; gentle rainfall - the perfect day to roast marshmallows! (In science class????) You bet! This demonstration experiment showed very clearly how heat energy can cause a chemical change in a marshmallow. As the marshmallow burns, the hydrogen and oxygen atoms combine to create water vapor, leaving behind the charred remains of carbon. (Source: Nancy Larson Science 3)
PERIODIC TABLE OF THE ELEMENTS We have recently started a unit on Chemistry. Currently, we are learning about the Periodic Table of Elements. Ask us how we can use the table in our chemistry books to tell which elements are solids, liquids, and gases. The following website is an interactive Periodic Table. Check out the interesting facts about elements! (Source: Nancy Larson Science 3)
