Grading and Homework Policy
1. Homework will be given on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights; however, some social studies homework assignments will be when needed. Your child should read in his/her reading book nightly, or you may read a book with your child.
2. All work graded work during the week will be sent home on Wednesday night in a folder for parents to review and sign that work has been seen
3. The purpose of homework is to reinforce classroom learning. It is important that your child complete homework each evening it is assigned. Therefore there will be penalties for incomplete homework. If it is not turned in on the due date 10 points will be deducted. After that a zero will be given for the assignment. However, your child will still be expected to complete the assignment at recess.
4. Your child will be writing assignments in a planner every day. In order to monitor your child’s assignments we expect you to sign the planner and check to make sure all homework is complete every day. It is your child’s responsibility to present you with the planner every evening. If the planner is not signed your child will lose fifteen minutes of recess.
