Dear students and families, I want to share with everyone some recent health
events in my life. This summer, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had
surgery on June 25th. I started chemotherapy two weeks ago. I am scheduled
to have 6 rounds of chemo, with radiation to follow upon completion. I am
doing well, after this first round, and look forward to completing this
regimen before the end of the semester!
My school schedule has been abbreviated since the beginning of this year,
and at this point, I hope to be able to return to school, working around my
chemotherapy schedule. Ms. Binkley, supported by Mrs. Monica McNeeley who
has subbed for me, as well as our wonderful teachers, have kept things
running smoothly in the library.
From the beginning of this path, my family and I have been surrounded by
loving family and friends. The amazing group of teachers, administrators
and staff at Meigs has lifted us up on a daily basis. I am grateful to
be part of such a caring, supportive group of people. As students
have learned my news, they have continued the Meigs' way of support and
concern. I am so thankful to be surrounded by such a caring community of
adults and students.
I have chronicled the journey I have been on at:

Feel free to visit this site for updates along the road. My thanks to all
for your love and support.
