Your child's STAR BINDER will also come home every day!

Homework will be in the FRONT pocket.

Classwork will be in the BACK pocket...don't bring it back!

READING: Your child will be assigned a reading textbook. On Monday, he/she will receive a new set of VOCABULARY WORDS. These words will be placed in your child's agenda. Study these words every night. A VOCABULARY QUIZ will be given on Thursday of each week.

Your child will also be responsible for reading the assigned story of the week every night. Read with your child, helping him/her with any words he/she cannot call. Discuss the pictures and talk about what happens in the story. A Reading Test will be given each Friday.

SPELLING: Your child will be given a Spelling List every Monday. This list will be placed in your child's agenda. We will practice spelling the words each day in class and activities will be given to assist your child in learning to spell the words. We will have a practice test on Thursday. The "real" test will be given on Friday.

MATH: We will complete Side A of each Math worksheet together in class. Side B will be Homework. It will be placed in the right side of your child's everyday folder. Let your child do everything he/she can do by him/herself. Read directions, as needed, for your child. Your child will also have to know basic math facts. I will send home extra fact sheets for practice. STUDY! STUDY! STUDY! We will have a timed test on these facts daily!

WEDNESDAY FOLDER: I will send home graded papers in the Wednesday folder every Wednesday. I require ALL graded papers to be signed and returned the next day (Thursday). Any child who forgets to return his/her Wednesday folder will miss Canteen for that week.
