Discipline Policy

Discipline Policy For Mrs. Natalie Alexander

Welcome to kindergarten! I believe that my most important goal each school
day is teaching your child. If at any time I must stop in order to
discipline a student, it is unfair to all the other students who come to
school to work and learn. In order to provide your child and all students
with a safe, comfortable learning environment, I have established a
discipline policy, which I feel works quite well.

Class Rules
1.	Follow directions!
2.	Respect yourself, others and their property.
3.	Keep hands, feet and other objects to yourself.
4.	Raise your hand to speak.
5.	No put downs, foul language or lying!

*All students are expected to follow school-wide rules, as well as classroom
rules. School rules are posted in the student agendas. Classroom rules are
posted in our room.

Each week, a sheet for your child’s behavior will be placed in the front of
their agenda. I will mark your child’s behavior on the sheet everyday. The
sheet will contain the rules for my class along with a color-coded stoplight
for the day. Please sign the sheet on each Friday and I will take them back
up the following Monday to keep for my own records.

Green light---Excellent behavior!
WARNING—One warning is given each day
Yellow light—Conference with the teacher and parent note/phone call
Red light---Note home or parent phone call, conference with teacher or trip
to principal’s office where punishment will be determined.

REWARDS: Rewards will be verbal praise, stickers, pencils, canteen on
Fridays (beginning in Oct.), and treasure box! Each child must remain on
green all week long for the above. (Warnings will not count against them!)

I look forward to a fantastic year with you and your child!
