What is Title I and how do I know if my child is getting Title I help?

Milan Elementary is a Schoolwide Title I school. This means that EVERY
child, teacher and teacher assistant in Milan Elementary is getting help
through the Title I project. Title I is a federal program that provides
supplemental assistance to schools. Milan Elementary has a high enough
percentage of free/reduced students to qualify us as a Schoolwide school
therefore we do not distinguish which children, teachers or teacher
assistants are served. EVERYONE at Milan Elementary is Title I.

Why are PreK parents given permission to go to the classrooms daily?

State law requires an adult to sign 4 year old children in and out
of their classrooms. They cannot be allowed to walk to and from alone. We
issue yellow PreK badges and PreK car tags to desginate who these people are.
