CAD I--1st & 4th periods Due to the nature of CAD courses there will be very little homework. Work will be assigned for completion in the classroom. Each student will have handouts which detail assignments and completion dates. If any student does not meet completion dates, I will discuss this with the student. I have offered each student the opportunity to load some free software (ProE) on their home computers. This is totally legal. It came thru a class that I took at Dyersburg last year. I have almost three hundred seats that are free to my students. Also, any student has the opportunity to load CADKEY 99 to their computer. This was the last year that we were allowed to do this. Principles of Engineering So far, we have investigated engineering careers, inventions, and developed Excel and Power Point documents for each. Most of our work is done online. We have several college and industrial sites that we use to enhance student learning. We have studied mechanisms, cams, struts and forces. Ask your student about these. Principles of Machining and Manufacturing Shop work. Welding, torch work, lathes, saws, plasma cutters. They can't bring this work home. Their textbook work is in short segments that must be done at school. ALL the students are making progress. If you have concerns regarding your child's grades please contact me. If the grades are low, it may be because of work not finished. If I see problems I will make every effort to contact parents or guardians. If I can not contact you by telephone, letters will be sent to try to help your studnets progress.
