***Students are out Thursday and Friday (3rd & 4th) for teachers to particpate in system wide Professional Development. ****Out for Labor Day September 7 MATH: Calculators allowed on TCAP: Students will be allowed to use a calculator on TCAP, providing they have used a calculator in class. The one we are currently practicing with and has been approved by the state is the (TI 30X II S). This calculator is sold at Wal-Mart, Target, Office Max, ect... The cost is about $17 including tax. Please note the above model number. Not all TI 30 calculators function the same, therefore if we are teaching key strokes it is important that everyone has the (TI 30X II S). GRADING PERIOD: ***** MMS is returning to a Six Week Grading Period **************** The new school calendar is posted the 09-10 in the agenda and on the school web site. AFTER-SCHOOL: Tutoring: Tutoring is available for students who need extra help. Pick up an application in the office, fill out, sign, and return. The tutoring program will begin after Labor Day on Mondays and Thursdays only. Grade Recovery: Any student failing the first sixweeks will be required to attend the grade recovery class in order to pass for the grading period. SCIENCE: Science Fair: The West Tennessee Regional Science & Engineering Science Fair will be this spring. Science Fair project proposals must follow the regional guidelines (to be given in class) and be submitted by Oct. 1. There will be one Science project each grading period.
