UPCOMING EVENTS and NEWS!
Congratulations to Aleah Bryant and Mark Mayo for being our Super Bears for
this nine week period!
A few reminders for the upcoming week…
1. Valentines candy and treat – Please send in candy or a treat with
your child for our Valentine treat bags by next Wednesday. A big thank you
to Leda Colwell for organizing our treat bags and snacks for that day!!
2. Valentine’s Day Boxes and Cards – Each child should make a valentine
box to use for their card exchange next Friday. Please send your child's box
in on Wednesday, Feb. 10th.
3. Young Author’s Conference – A note went home yesterday regarding the
Young Author’s Conference. Please return the note by Monday to let me know
if your child is interested in being considered for the conference.
4. Published Books – Every child will be publishing a book of their
own. Please return $1 to help cover the cost of these hard back books. I
will be sending the books home today so that you will have them for
completing next week. The published book will need to be completed and
turned in on Thursday, February 11th.
5. 4-H Meeting and Piggy Bank Contest – Our next 4-H meeting will be
held on Thursday, February 18th. Please see the 4-H icon for information
regarding the piggy bank contest. I encourage everyone to participate!
6. AR Class Competition – We are having our own Super Bowl fun! Today
we enjoyed a special snack and we are continuing with our AR competition
between the “Colts” and the “Saints” through next week. The winning team
will be allowed to have lunch in the classroom!
7. Box Tops and Soup Labels – Please continue to save and send in your
box tops and soup labels. Our class enjoyed popsicles last week for having
the most box tops in January!
School Banking begins on Tuesday, August 18th at 6:45 am! I will list each
banking day on our class calendar page. This is a GREAT way to instill good
saving habits. Our class is also rewarded each time a student in our
homeroom makes a deposit.

Please check your child's weekly folder tonight for some very important
paperwork and information.
ALWAYS IMPORTANT!!
Please make sure that you sign your child's AGENDA is signed each night
(except for Friday). Please make sure that you sign your whole name
in the box at the bottom of the page.
The fourth grade teachers will follow the following procedure if students
forget to have agendas signed by a parent Monday through Thursday nights.
AGENDA PROCEDURE:
1. One warning check will be given for the nine weeks.
2. Any check after the warning will result in loss of half of recess for
the remainder of the nine weeks.
LUNCH MONEY should be sent in on Monday mornings. Please include your
child's lunch code on the check. If your child forgets his/her lunch money
or lunchbox and you bring it to school, please take it to the office. I
will check my mailbox each day before we go to lunch.
