                            ANIMAL REPORT
Mrs. Erdley’s 4th grade Science Class
                    Due Monday, November 9, 2009

NAME___________________________ANIMAL___________________

Requirements:

1.	Each student will be assigned an animal. This way we will have a
variety of interesting reports.

Students will research an animal and show the following information on an
organized and neat poster:

A.	Name your animal’s classification and species. Explain why your
animal is classified as a vertebrate or invertebrate. Is it a reptile,
mammal, amphibian, bird or fish? Is your animal a carnivore, herbivore, or
omnivore and why?
B.	Describe your animal. Be sure to tell about its body covering, how
it moves from place to place, how it reproduces, and any special
characteristics that makes it unique. Find or draw a DETAILED picture of
your animal. The picture must be accurate in color and proportion.
C.	Describe its habitat AND draw a picture of the habitat.
D.	What are your animal’s adaptations? Is it warm or cold blooded?
What has nature given the animal to keep it alive? For example, a turtle has
a shell; a skunk sprays its enemies.
E.	Draw a life cycle of your animal showing at least three different
growth stages.
F.	Make a food web illustrating the food chain relating to your animal.
It should be neatly drawn in color with each part correctly labeled.
G.	You may present your animal report in a poster form or in a booklet
form with a cover that is attractive and interesting. Use your imagination
and do your best work!
