My name is Lisa Erdley. I was born in Nashville, Tennessee at Baptist
Hospital on April 28, 1968. I was raised in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee by my
parents, Larry and Linda Kent. I am an only child. I attended Mt. Juliet
Elementary, Junior High, and High School and graduated in 1986. I then
attended Middle Tennessee State University and graduated with a Marketing
degree.
I worked in the insurance industry for 15 years but always dreamed of being
a teacher. Finally, in 2002 I learned about Cumberland’s licensure and
Master’s program and decided to answer the call to become a teacher. I
truly believe that being a teacher is a calling. I was afraid I would
always have regrets if I didn’t try to attain my goal. Finally, after
working full time, going to school, and juggling my family responsibilities,
I have reached my goal. This is my third year at Mt. Juliet Elementary. I
couldn’t have made it without my parents and family’s tremendous support! I
enjoy teaching because every day is a new challenge. I love being with my
students in the classroom learning together. My least favorite thing about
teaching is getting up so early!
My husband’s name is Jack and we have two daughters. Abbie is twelve years
old and in the seventh grade at West Wilson Middle School and Emily is three
years old. My husband works for HRI company and is also a Major in
the Army National Guard. I am so proud of them!
I enjoy reading all types of books. I also love scrap booking, gardening,
laughing with my friends, and traveling with my family. We really have fun
with outdoor activities and visiting National Parks. We hope to visit as
many National Parks as possible in the coming years.
My mission is to make each day a positive, enriching experience in the
classroom. It is my mission to make each year a memorable step in the
journey of learning. Those things learned with pleasure are never forgotten.
