Fourth Grade Rules 1. We will follow directions the first time given. 2. We will raise our hand to speak and use an appropriate voice at the appropriate time. 3. We will respect the teacher's instructional time by listening and not disturbing others with our voices or actions. 4. We will show respect to all adult MJE staff members and MJE volunteers. 5. We will come to class prepared with all needed materials and assignments. 6. We will use self-control to keep hands, feet, objects, and unkind words to ourselves. Consequences: 1 Check = warning 2 Checks = loss of half of recess 3 Checks = loss of entire recess 4 checks = loss of entire recess and extra work assigned 5 checks = removal from the classroom *Severe Clause = the teacher reserves the right to use discretion in sending any student to the office for disciplinary action if the student has made a mistake of a severe nature. Some examples include but are not limited to: using foul language, fighting, defacing school property, rude or threatening behavior, cheating, etc. The discipline policy is the same throughout fourth grade. The teacher/teachers will record the check mark(s) in the child's agenda daily. Conduct grade will also be based on this system. Teachers will record check marks each day and tally them for the nine-week grading period. 0-5 check marks = E 6-20 check marks = S 21-40 check marks = N 41+ or 5 check marks on one day = U An "N" or "U" anywhere on the report card disqualifies a student from making Principal's List or Honor Roll for that grade period.
