Weekly Newsletter

I can’t believe this is the last newsletter I’ll be sending for the 2008 – 2009 school year!  We have had a WONDERFUL year and I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you and your children!  This group will always hold a very special place in my heart!  I’ll go ahead and give you a “heads up” and let you know that “Kindergarten Appreciation” will be very difficult for me.  I love all of these children like they’re my own!  They have all grown and learned so much this year!  I’m very proud of each and every one of them!

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 2nd will be “Toy/Game Day”.  (Please do not allow children to bring electronics such as a Nintendo DS.)  Also, a quick reminder that I will be leaving tomorrow at 10:45 a.m. to go to the hospital to be with my mother while my father has surgery to clear a carotid artery that is almost totally blocked.  Ms. Ginny will be here with the children.  If you need to change your child’s transportation after 10:30 a.m. in the morning, please call the office and let the secretaries know as Ms. Ginny will not have access to my e-mail or my voice mail.

Wednesday, June 3rd will be our “Kindergarten Appreciation” at 9:00 a.m. in the multi-purpose room.  The children need to wear their “Sunday best” and I’m asking for your help to assist your child in changing into dress code appropriate clothes after our program.  If you have not yet sent your R.S.V.P. to let me know how many will be attending, please do so by tomorrow.  We will be having refreshments after the program and I need to know how many to plan for.

Thursday, June 4th will be “Clean Up Day”.  Please have your child bring a rag and a brown grocery bag to school that day.  We will spend the morning cleaning our room and packing up the children’s things.  At 1:00 we will have our “Ice Cream Sundae Extravaganza”!  I am providing the ice cream, bowls and spoons.  I am asking the students to bring toppings to make their ice cream sundaes with.  We’ve already received mini-marshmallows and two jars of cherries.  We are still in need of sprinkles, mini M&Ms, sliced strawberries, chocolate sauce, caramel sauce, whipped cream (in the can) or anything else you can think of.

There is no school for students on Friday, June 5th.  School will be open on Saturday, June 6th from 7:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. for report card pick up.  If you would rather have your child’s report card mailed to you, please send a 5 x 7 self addressed envelope with two stamps as well as your address also written in the return address corner.  I will need your envelopes no later than Thursday, June 4th.

Thanks again for all of your support and help this year!!  You all are SUPER!!  I will miss you and hope you have a GREAT summer!!  J
