GySgt. Goodin has been a teacher at Mt. Juliet High School since 1995
teaching Junior ROTC and coaching Precision Drill, and Marksmanship.
Before coming to Mt. Juliet, GySgt. Goodin served in the United States
Marine Corps for 20 years. While in the corps, he was a helicopter
crewmember, a jet engine mechanic, a recruiter, a drill instructor, an
instructor at the Staff Noncommissioned Officer Academy, and during the Gulf
War: a guard commander, a maintenance controller, and a line chief. GySgt.
Goodin is certified to teach Marine Corps and Navy Junior ROTC and holds a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Aviation Management and a Master of Education
Degree. GySgt. Goodin is married to Teresa Baltzley and they are the
parents of three children: Katherine, Ashley, and Anthony. They also have
two grandsons: Bryson and Andrew.
Our mission is to develop young men and women into productive responsible
citizens who are ready to lead their generation into the future. We teach
leadership fundamentals and develop teamwork, we also instill discipline and
self-confidence. ROTC is for any student who wants to develop self-
confidence and leadership.
