Absences
If you are absent, please check http://www.teacherweb.com for assignments.
All work that was due on the day of your absence is due the day you return
to school. If you miss a test it MUST be made up during RICA the day you
return from being absent. If you are absent the last class before the test,
you will take the test the day it is given. You are given 2 days to
complete make-up work for one day of absence. If you are a SEEK student, it
is your responsibility to tell me when you are going to your SEEK class.
You must turn in all assignments that are due that day before you go to SEEK
or before you go on a SEEK field trip.
Homework, Science Notebook, Projects, and Tests
Assignments will be written on the board and it is your responsibility to
write them down. Your homework and class work will count as 30% of your
grade.
You must keep a science notebook for each nine weeks of study. Notebooks
must be neat and contain all of the categories of requested information in
the order it was assigned or given to you. Notebooks will stay in the
classroom unless you must study for a test or have assignments to
complete. This notebook is mandatory and counts as 15% of your grade.
You will be assigned a project every nine weeks. This is an out-of-class
activity. The project will go with our studies for the nine weeks. (You
must put the project together; kits are not permissible.) Projects count as
15% of your grade and are required, not optional. (You will receive more
detailed information about projects at a later date.)
A test will usually be given at the end of each chapter and/or unit. A
thorough review will be given before each test. All tests and quizzes are
kept in your science notebook. Tests/quizzes will count as 40% of your
grade.
