Welcome to a new year of learning. With the passing of summer, many
students are excited to continue their education at Middle School and so they
should be. This is the final transitional stage before the
students are in High School. As your teacher in the area of Speech and
Communication, I know that of all your classes this course may seem to be the
least important of all of your courses for many and yet we use this practice
daily without realization.
This year we will share the use of the aspects of communication in real
world situations, produce a level of mastery that will have you ready for
your next steps. One of the ways I do that is to have exercises that culminate
in a presentation. Though they sound difficult, they aren't and
the skills learned will open your eyes to future skills.
In every class, you will need to bring your English novel for reading
during free time and the format for the journals is going to be changed. Be
ready for the change or it will catch you from behind. Reminder that you are
moving forward and more will be required of you than ever before.
Just do not let it get you down, as each teacher is happy to help you
succeed. Success is measured in attempts not in quitting.
