About The Teacher
My name is Laura Scott. My email is based on my first and middle name because there is a high school teacher with a very similar name. My e-mail is scottnl@wcschools.com I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University and began teaching in Wilson County in 1987.I received my master's degree in Instruction and Curriculum from the University of Phoenix June 2008.Being a student has made me a better and more effective educator. We definitely get bathroom breaks! My kids will fill you in on that one. My teaching experience includes grades 2, 3, 6, 7, and 8. I have experiences in Language Arts, Science, Math, Computers, Drama, Self- contained classes in 2nd, 3rd, and 6th grades. I have taught summer school and intersession. I am one of three teachers who run an after school remediation program the 2nd and 3rd terms depending on state funding as to the availability of the program and length of sessions. I have a wonderful daughter, beautiful, funny, smart beyond her years, and talented, Just like yours! She is a student at the middle school and I could not be prouder of her!! I have been a Mount Juliet resident for 20 years. I've lived in Wilson county my entire life and am a product of the same school system your child is currently enrolled. I urge you to be active in your child's education and our school. Please know you are always welcome in our school and in my class. Only functioning together can we make this your child's best year yet!!!
