Mrs. Kelly Jo Birmingham
I have been teaching in DeKalb County School System since August 1996.
I received my Bachelor's of Music and Master's Degrees from Tennessee
Technological University. Currently, I teach general music to students at
both NES and SES.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Eric, for over fifteen years.
We have four terrific children, their ages ranging from 10 to 4 years. We
also have a Bassett Hound named Kita, who we consider as part of our family.
Weekly Girl Scout and Cub Scout meetings tend to keep me busy after school!
I have a passion for music AND for my students. I am delighted to be
returning to Northside Elementary School as your child's music teacher! I am
ready to make this year the BEST yet!
I try to make music fun for the students. During a typical music class, I
like to introduce a music game or activity at the end of the lesson to
reinforce the day's objective. I also encourage cross-curricular activities
which helps to reinforce learning in other subject areas.
I believe when children laugh, they are listening. When they listen, they
are learning.
I also believe if children can walk, they can dance. If they can talk, they
can sing.
