This is my fifth year at Prescott and I truly feel blessed to be able to
work with the wonderful group of people, both kids and adults, that make up
our school family. Our students are not just kids that walk in and out of
our classrooms, but they are the lives that touch our own. They are the
children that fill our hearts and minds, just as our own children do. They
are children whom we think of morning and night, of ways to help them grow,
learn, and find the joy in life and in themselves. Just as the students are
not just children passing us in the halls, our jobs are not just jobs to
pass the days. Our calling to teach is to truly make a difference in the
world, and it is through your children and our own that we hope to
accomplish this. I know this is not something that happens immediately, or
daily, but I am always hopeful that someday one of our students will look
back on days past and remember a teacher, principal, assistant, school
secretary, or school counselor that truly made a difference in their lives.
That is all we can ask for. Because it is not the grades that make us who we
are, but our character, our values, our empathy, and our love of the world.
The mission of Prescott is to provide a safe learning environment, through
an
authentic middle school setting, that will permit and encourage each unique
individual to develop as an active learner to his or her fullest potential
academically, emotionally, physically, socially, and culturally.
