My name is Brandy Fleming. The beginning of the school year will start
my 6th year of teaching. I have taught first grade for three years and second
grade for one year prior to this, and this will be my second journey with
fifth grade. The students entering fifth grade this fall will be the same
students that I enjoyed teaching in first grade my second year at RBS
Elementary. I'm looking forward to seeing how they have grown into young
ladies and gentlemen.
I graduated from Western Kentucky University in May of 2004 with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I am originally from
Tompkinsville, Kentucky. However, I moved to Red Boiling Springs in
December of 2001. I am very happily married to my husband, Philip, and we
have two children, Kennedy and Claire. I have little to no free time being
an elementary teacher, wife, and mother of two small children, but when I
get a moment, I enjoy playing with my children, reading, and spending time
with my family and friends. :)
For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher. I love my
job and all of the children that I am privileged to work with in my class. I
cannot promise that I will not make any mistakes in my classroom, but I can
promise that I will strive to do my best to give each child success, a love
of learning, and a fair, safe, fun learning environment. I can also promise
that I, as a teacher and a person, will strive each day to be better than I
was the day before. Looking forward to a great year!
An anonymous person once said, "An educator lights up dark places." My
mission is to light a spark within each child that burns for learning and
that cannot be extinguished. I want to help each child in my room develop a
passion for learning, an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, a feeling of
success, and a belief in his or herself. I expect each of my students to
take responsibility for their own learning and to give me their best
every day. I know that each child will succeed because you, as parents, and
I, as their teacher, both want the very same thing-the best for your child!
