Will my child be given a Kindergarten Screening (Test)?

During the week of August 13, 14, 17, 18, we will be giving the Kindergarten
Brigance Screening to all kindergarten children countywide. Your child will
come to school only one day on these dates, and there will be a Parent-Teacher
Conference to discuss your child's screening results on Friday, August 21,
2009. You will receive a schedule at Open House to let you know which day
your child will be screened.

When is Kindergarten Open House?

Parents and children are invited to visit the school Monday, August 10, 2009.
This will give you an opportunity to meet your child's teacher, principal,
and visit the classroom. There will be a group meeting in the cafeteria
beginning promptly at 4:30. We urge you to bring your child and attend our

What is the price of breakfast and lunch?

Breakfast is served each morning. The price of a tray is $1.00 which includes
their choice of chocolate or white milk. The price of a lunch tray is $1.75
daily or $8.75 weekly. So that your child doesn't have to keep up with their
lunch and breakfast money each day, we suggest that you send both for the
whole week when possible. You may also set up an account for lunch and
breakfast thru the cafeteria and place money in it as needed.

Does kindergarten eat a snack in the afternoon?

Because kindergarten eat lunch early, we do offer a snack in the afternoon.
The snack is a nutritious snack provided by the cafeteria. The price is .75
cents a day ($3.75 for the week). This includes a drink, usually milk or
juice, and something to eat. Once a week ice cream is available. Children
also have the option of bringing a snack from home rather than purchasing one
from school, but we recommend that you don't do both.
