Am I required to use the class website?

No, you are not. If you have time I encourage you to check for updates.
Students may also access it at any time to link to other approved websites,
look at class pictures, or learn more about what is going on in class.

I see the newsletter is on here, will you still send one home?

At the beginning of the year, I asked parents if they would like to have
papers sent home or if they would rather view them on the website. In an
effort to go GREEN and since we talk to the students about the importance of
recycling, I will only send home papers that cannot be posted on this site,
unless you notify me at the beginning of the year that you would like
everything sent home.

Is this safe for my student?

Definitely! All of the links have been checked to my best updated knowledge.

How often is the site updated?

I try and update with new Announcements every week. I will also update the
calendar as needed. I will add the weekly newsletter and spelling words
every week also. I love to add and modify our pages. I am constantly
learning new ways to utilize our webpage as a teaching and learning resource.

Can I contact you through the website?

You should be able to click on the email icon at the top of the homepage. If
that does not work due to different computer programs, then check the teacher
page for my email addresses. I am very easily available by email, even at
home.

Can I send you pictures to add from parties, field trips, etc?

Yes, I would love it. I will add as many as I can. I only have so much
storage room on here, so sometimes I have to be selective.

If I have a suggestion for the site, would you like to hear it?

I would love to hear any ideas that you may have. This is a work in progress
every year. If anyone is computer/website savvy and you have suggestions,
please let me know. My learning curve can be slow at times :)I really want
to learn how to add interactive games and photo slide shows.

Will there be items on here that will not be on paper forms sent home?

Yes, but not many. Pictures will be on here and our wishlist is also located
on here. All important information will be sent home through newsletters or
other flyers for all students! You will not be missing out on anything, this
is just another resource for parents. Websites pages will change throughout
the year as our year progresses.

If I lose a form, can I find it on here?

I am in the process of adding all important forms onto our website so that if
you lose one, you can print it out here. This could be Reading Logs,
permission slips, behavior calendars, etc. Keep checking and if it is not on
here send me a note or email and I will get you another copy.

What is a blog?

A blog is an online journal. I will update it in the beginning, but will
have the students take turns updating weekly about what is going on each
week. This will help encourage good writing skills and habits! The Parent
Blog is for parents only. It is designed to be an onlinr forum for parent-
teacher communication. It is only as good as the participants make it. If
you have a question, post it to the blog. Did you notice something great
about our class that other parents should know, post it to the blog or leave
a comment.
