Mrs. Christian’s Aloha Notes/Week 20
January 4th thru January 8th
The student of the week is Halle Hernandez!
*I hope you had a wonderful Christmas break! I am excited to be back, but
sad to leave my little Hannah. Thank you to everyone who sent well wishes
our way. We hope to be getting back into the swing of things quickly.
*The end of the 2nd Nine Weeks is Friday. Grade cards will go home soon.
*I’ve had a few auction items brought in, but we are in desperate need of
more. Our auction will be on Friday, January 15th. This is next week!!!
Remember as your child gets new toys you may want to donate some of their old
ones. “One man’s junk is another man’s treasure.”
*We will be starting multiplication this week. We will be working on
0,1,2,5, and 10. Please practice these facts at home with your children. It
is a vital part of math in 4th grade. The only way to learn them is with
frequent drill and practice.
*I know that the winter season can be hard on our bodies. Therefore, I am
allowing students to bring in chapstick, individual unscented lotions,
individual Kleenex packs, or individual germ-x bottles to keep in their
desks. They will be allowed to use the items as needed. If I see that a
child is abusing this privilege, then they will no longer be allowed to
participate. Also, we will be going outside most days unless the temperature
is below 32 degrees. Please keep this in mind as you dress your child. They
definitely need a coat daily and may want to bring hats or mittens. Recess
is a very important time of socialization, and I feel students deserve a
little unwind time at the end of the day.
