My name is Jennifer Blackburn and I am the new English as a Second Language
(ESL) teacher here at Rogersville City School. I first taught ESL in Merida,
Venezuela. This was a beautiful city tucked into a valley in the Andes
Mountains. This city was also the home of the University of the Andes, so we
had many college students wanting to learn English. I completed my Bachelors
in Music and Master of Arts in Teaching from Columbia International
University. My hobbies include horseback riding, reading, playing the violin
and piano, and singing. My husband, daughters, and I have lived in several
southern states, but we now call Tennessee "home." We have a farm over in
Clinch Valley with several horses.
I am excited about teaching ESL because I get to be with students from around
the world. So far, this has been a wonderful experience. I look forward to
teaching English, and supporting fellow teachers and administration in
serving our English Language Learners (ELLs).
