Band homework consists of practice time. Students may use my form to record
their time or make one themselves. This time should be turned in each
week. One hour of time per week gives a report card homework grade of 95.
Two hours of practice per week will give a grade of 100. This time is
accumulative and does carry over. Should a student not get enough practice
in for a week, extra time from another week can carry over.
Report Card Grades:
The final report card grade is derived from three parts: 1)homework,
2) participation in class, and 3) tests. The homework grade is the practice
time turned in each week. Students who practice and turn in 2 hours of time
each week will receive a 100 for this time. This gives a total of 18 hours
per nine weeks for a perfect grade. Participation in class includes having
their instrument, music, and materials needed for class. Tests are given
each week. Students may always retake their test on the following class day
if they wish to improve the grade.
