I was born in Rogersville and attended Rogersville City School and
Rogersville High School. I participated in the marching band, concert band,
chorus, Beta Club, and Future Teachers of America in high school. I
graduated from East Tennessee State University with a degree in instrumental
music. I hold a master of music education degree from the University of
Tennessee and an Ed.S in teacher leadership and curriculum from East
Tennessee State University. I began my career as the assistant band
director at Rogersville High School. I have taught band in Atlanta, Georgia
in the Dekalb County School District and spent 8 years in Gaston County,
North Carolina as a junior high band director. I had the privilege to work
for the U.S. Department of the Defense as a band and choral director on the
Incirlik Air Force Base in Adana, Turkey during the school year 2000-2001. I
have taught at Rogersville Middle School and Cherokee High before coming to
Rogersville City School as the band director in 2006.
I am a member of the Rogersville Presbyterian Church. I play the piano and
french horn. I love to travel and enjoy shopping for antiques.
All children deserve the privilege to experience and develop a love and
understanding of music.
