Goals of the School Health Services Program

"Promoting healthy and safe behaviors among students is an important part of 
the fundamental mission of school, which is to provide young people with the 
knowledge and skills they need to become healthy and productive 
adults,"(School Health Index, 2004).  Habits and practices related to health 
and safety are influenced by the entire school environment. We all share the 
same goal:  to develop healthy children who come to school ready and able to 
learn.
