What do we do about make-up work?

All make-up work is located in a special folder in the classroom. Students
are responsible to check this folder when they return to school. Should you
wish to pick up your child's assignments, please call the office and leave
me a message or email me at school. If at all possible, please come by after
3 p.m.

Can my child improve a poor grade?

Your child may correct any errors on any graded assignments. Corrections
must be done on a separate piece of paper and turned in with the original
assignment. No erasures may be made on the original assignment. As the
school year begins, I will suggest to students to do corrections to improve
a grade. My hope is that as we learn together, the children will begin to do
this independently. I strongly believe that we can learn much from
correcting our mistakes. At times, I will require students to correct errors.
Corrections are worth 1/2 of the original question points.

We had a hectic evening and my child didn't get homework done.

I realize that things happen, and even teachers don't get all their homework
done some evenings. I would encourage you to have your child talk to me
first thing in the morning. As long as this does not become a habit, we'll
work together and allow homework to be turned in the following morning.

What if my child needs additional help or remediation?

Please contact me and we can talk about it. Homework Help and after school
classes are available. I am available most days after school to help your
child.
