Each child will be given a HOMEWORK FOLDER on the first day of school. The
folder has two pockets: (1) Bring back to school and (2) Keep at home. An
assignment sheet will be placed inside the clear cover each week. Homework
assignments will be posted on the board daily and each learner is required
to copy down the assignments onto their assignment sheet.
Each learner will keep the folder at his desk. Your child should have
notebook paper placed in the left hand side of the folder at all times.
Should your child lose his folder, one may be purchased for $1.00.
Daily homework assignments WILL NOT be posted on our website. I will post
special project assignments and due dates on the website. Fourth grade
students will learn to copy down their assignments. As we begin, I will
check assignment sheets and do my best to see that each child takes home the
required textbooks.
IT IS VITAL THAT YOU CHECK THIS FOLDER DAILY!
Parent notifications will be sent home when homework is not turned in.
Each day an assignment is late, 10 points will be deducted from the grade.
You may expect to have homework most nights, and occasionally on the
weekends. I would encourage you to have your child read at home every
evening as part of the homework routine - it may be a book, the newspaper, a
magazine, or even reading a
recipe aloud to the family cook!
