WELCOME TO ART @ ROGERSVILLE CITY SCHOOL! This 2009/2010 school year will be filled with new and exciting projects for students of all ages! We will explore Art History, Aesthetics, Critique and the Production of art in the formal method of art instruction. ...and we'll swirl all that around with a lot of fun... We will apply the following standards in our work: 1: Understanding and applying media, techniques, and processes 2: Using knowledge of structures and functions 3: Choosing and evaluating a range of subject matter, symbols, and ideas 4: Understanding the visual arts in relation to history and cultures 5: Reflecting upon and assessing the characteristics and merits of student work and the work of others 6: Making connections between visual arts and other disciplines These will be our guide as we cut, glue, paint, build and explore all that the art world has to offer. See you there! :) "I think that only daring speculation can lead us further and not accumulation of facts." -Albert Einstein "The key question isn't "What fosters creativity?" But it is why isn't everyone creative? Where was the human potential lost? How was it crippled? I think therefore a good question might be not why do people create? But why do people not create or innovate?" -Abraham Maslow
