Step 1: Visit the Anne Frank Center, USA site to read and look through the
scrapbook about her life. As a group, be sure to take notes about important
details.
Step 2: Read excerpts from Anne's Diary. Discuss some of the excerpts in your
group. Then, answer your first discussion question.
Discussion Question 1. There are times in her diary when Anne contradicts
herself. Can you find an example in these passages? Why would she do this?
Step 3: Read the "frequently asked questions" section of the Anne Frank
Center website. For extra credit, send an email to the given address
(students@annefrank.com)either asking a question of your own or commenting on
the questions of others. Print off a copy of the email for bonus points.
Step 4: Go to the Anne Frank Museum website. Scroll around and learn more
about Anne, her family, and her diary. Then, answer the following discussion
questions.
Discussion Question 2: Briefly describe Anne's childhood.
Discussion Question 3: Describe, in detail, what the Secret Annex looked like?
Discussion Question 4: What happened when the Frank family was discovered?
Create a diary entry for one of the family members about this day.
Discussion Question 5: Who helped the Franks hide? Decribe these two people.
Would you have done the same thing? Be honest. Why or why not?
