About The Teacher

     My name is Cindy Core.  I have been married for 31 years to my 
wonderful husband, Bill.  We have two beautiful children, Ashley and Jess.  
Ashley married three years ago and she lives in Tennessee.  I have a 
wonderful son in law, Carter.  Jess graduated from the University of 
Tennessee in May.  GO VOLS!  He was offered a job in Nashville two days 
before graduation.  Bill and I are so excited for him. Last summer he 
participated in an Iron Man Relay in Hawaii.  His team came in third and his 
purpose was to raise money for disabled athletes. I was so proud of him!   
     I have been teaching for 29 years in Metro Nashville Schools.  I taught 
in a federally funded program for three years at Brick Church Elementary.  I 
transferred to Hattie Cotton and taught math for two years and first grade 
for 20 years!  This is my fifth year at Shayne as a first grade teacher.  
You probably know by now that I love first grade!  Teaching is a wonderful 
profession and I am so happy that I am part of the Shayne family.
