This will be my eleventh year teaching and my ninth year teaching fourth
grade. I am married to Jeff Warbritton, who is a firefighter with the Nashville
Fire Department, and we have two adorable daughters, Emma Kate(4) and Rylee
Marie(2) and we will be welcoming baby #3 in November.
I want each of you to know how happy I am to have your child in my room.
As a Davidson County native, I was born and raised here and attended the
public school system. I am a 1998 graduate from Middle Tennessee State
University. While in school I worked in the Murfreesboro City School System
at Bellwood Elementary as an E.S.P. teacher, cheerleading coach, teacher's
aide, and substitute. I student taught third grade at Cole Elementary and
fifth grade at Margaret Allen. After graduation, I held a first grade
interim position at Cole Elementary. In the 1999-2000 school year I taught
third grade at Una Elementary. I had to leave Una due to zoning and spent
three years at Norman Binkley. I taught second grade my first year
there and fourth grade for two years after. By choice, I chose to transfer
to Granbery in the 2003-2004 school year, but unfortunately was displaced
due to the opening of Shayne. Luckily, I was chosen to accompany Mrs. Debbie
Brown to Shayne and teach fourth grade. It was so exciting opening Shayne
Elementary, and it is an awesome place to teach. I am very excited about the
upcoming year, and I am looking forward to it under new leadership, Mrs. Pam Greer.
In December of 2000, I completed my Masters in Curriculum & Instruction at
Middle Tennessee State University, and I completed my plus 30 in the spring
of 2005. So as you can see I enjoy learning and I believe that in order to
be a reflective teacher I need to continue to further my education and learn
as much as possible. Learning is a never ending journey. In my spare time I
enjoy scrapbooking, beading, cooking, stamping, and spending time with my
husband, our daughters, my family, and friends.
This is yet another important step in your child's educational life
and it is my desire that your child not only succeed but to continue to
develop an eternal thirst for learning. I will work hard this year to meet
each child's needs, no matter their ability or disability. I will do my best
to help your child to develop socially, emotionally, and academically. I
firmly believe each child can reach his or her potential if he or she is
willing to do their best. Parents can help their child reach those goals by
making sure their child reads nightly, gets a good night sleep, and comes to
school prepared with the necessary supplies and ready to apply themselves. As
a class we will create a positive learning commmunity that will allow all of
us to get along and support each other through cooperation and
communication. Parents are the backbone of the classroom. It
is very important that "WE" work together as a TEAM to insure the most
successful and positive educational experience for your 4th grader. Working
together we can insure that the educational needs of your child are met.
Your help and cooperation will be appreciated.
Teacher + Parent + Child Working Together =
A successful year in 4th grade!
