Week 4 - due Thursday September 3
1. Define the terms plagiarism and paraphrasing.
2. Paraphrase the unit of our text regarding the writing process - pages 42-44.
Product should be typed or written in ink. Headings may be used for each of the segments. The
goal is to practice the technique of paraphrasing, not summarizing. Therefore, each segment should
contain 3-4 sentences.
3. Students will write a friendly letter into which they have incorporated one irrelevant sentence. The
letter itself should conform to the friendly letter format: date, greeting, body, closing, signature.
All assignments may be printed or written in ink. High quality work is expected.
