*Reading- The story this week is called "Wings". The skills are "cause and
effect". A "cause" tells WHY something happened. An "effect" is WHAT
happened. Students will have a vocabulary and comprehension test on
the story on Thursday, Jan.7th.
Vocabulary Words
1. attention- careful thinking, looking, or listening
2. complained- said that you are unhappy or annoyed or upset about something
3. drifting- being carried along by currents of air or water
4. giggle- to laugh in a silly or uncontrolled way
5. glaring- staring angrily
6. looping- forming a line, path, or motion shaped so that it crosses itself
7. struggled- tried hard, worked hard against difficulties
8. swooping- coming down fast on something
