About The Teacher

     I was born and raised in Jackson, TN. I have been in Memphis for nine 
years and now I call it home. I graduated form Lambuth University with a 
degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. I also 
completed a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of Memphis. I 
have no children of my own, so I am happy each year to have my very own 
class full of bright and eager students. 
     I am a fairly new home owner and as a result, I am an HGTV fanatic. I 
am the ultimate DIY'er. My obsession with food could land me my next job as 
a food critic. I enjoy all restaurant fare. Name a restaurant and I've 
probably been there or have plans to go. I also enjoy a little salsa 
dancing, reading, music, family gatherings, traveling or at least dreaming 
about traveling. 
     I believe that teachers are the best and I am honored to be in their 
ranks. I wake up happy to go to work each day.

Mission For The Class

     Gardner relays the belief best in that students possess different kinds 
of minds and therefore learn, remember, perform, and understand in different 
ways. Because of my observations and work with students, I believe that all 
children can learn but in different ways. This fact has become a part of my 
personal teaching philosophy and mission for my class.
     My mission for the class is to create a safe, challenging, and fun 
academic and social learning environment, that is varied in instructional 
strategies to allow me to reach my students in their intelligences. My 
mission is to prepare children in the short-term for academic and social 
responsibilities in elementary school but also provide a foundation for the 
long-term as life-long learners.
