ANIMAL BABIES eTALE
Parents, please check out our Kindergarten photos link to view our new
eTale. I am so very proud of my students. Their handwriting and
illustrations are really improving!

WINTERFEST
I sent home a winterfest letter on Wednesday. Please fill out the bottom
portion and return it to school as soon as possible. It is very important
that we have parent volunteers to help with Winterfest. I hope everyone is
looking forward to it as much as I am.

CHEESE STICKS
The afterschool program will be selling cheese sticks and cokes on Friday,
November 13th. The cheese sticks will cost $2.50 and a drink will cost $1.
Please send money in a marked envelope! Thank you for supporting our
afterschool program.

THANKSGIVING PLAY
Kindergarten and first grade will be putting on a Thanksgiving Play on Friday,
November 20th. The play will immediately follow our annual Thanksgiving
Dinner. Kindergarten will eat lunch starting at 10:30 AM. I hope everyone
can make plans to attend.

PIZZA PARTY
In order to raise money for Winterfest, PTO is sponsoring a 'money drive'.
Students are to bring in change and place in our Kindergarten money jar. The
class who raises the most money will receive a pizza party. PLEASE send
money to school in a marked envelope or zip lock bag.

BOOK ORDER
Parents, the next book order is due December 4th.

WINTERFEST
Winterfest has been scheduled for Saturday, December 5th. Look for more
information closer to December.

CHRISTMAS MUSIC PROGRAM
Our annual Christmas music program will be on Tuesday, December 8th starting
at 6:00 PM. The music program will be held in our gym. I hope everyone can
make plans to attend.

PROJECT FUNDED
Parents, I am thrilled to tell you that my project through limeades for
learning has been funded! Thank you so much to those that took the time to
vote for my class. The materials should arrive in a couple of weeks, and I
can't wait to share it with the students. Again, I want to thank you and
Trenton Sonic for their generous donation! The total amount of the funded
project is $200!!

CAPRI SUNS
Don't forget I am collecting Capri Sun pouches. Please send the pouches
without the straw. I will be collecting these all year long.

WISH LIST
Please take the time to visit my wish list link. Any donation would be
greatly appreciated!!

ALL ABOUT ME TEE
In order for the students to learn more about each other, I have
purchased "All About Me Tees". Students are to fill in the information and
return to school within 2 weeks. The 'tees' will be posted in the hall for
two weeks. This will be a year long project. Look for more information when
it is your child's turn!

LYSOL RECEIPTS
Parents, I hope you took the time and read over the letter I sent home
pertaining to turning in receipts that have Lysol purchases on them. It is a
great way for our class to earn money towards books and other classroom
supplies. I personally have a receipt that has 5 Lysol purchases on it. I
only need 10 more to receive $50 worth of books. The more we turn in, the
more we get in return. Please help our class reach this goal. We have until
the end of January 2010.

PHONICS STORIES
Every Wednesday night, your child will have reading homework. He or she is to
read our weekly phonics story to you and you are to sign and return it to
school on Thursday. This is a great way for your child to practice reading!

KINDERGARTEN LEVELED READERS
Each week, students must read 2 leveled readers to me. I require students
to read to me so I can check for fluency, comprehension, sight word
recognition, and various other reading skills. We practice these stories
during our learning station rotations, however, some students need extra
practice. I have included a website on my "links" page that will allow you
to practice these stories with your child at home. Just click on the link,
then click on the correct reading story.

RECYCLE
We have a Yorkville Paper Bin located in the back of the school. If
possible, please discard ALL cardboard, magazines, papers, boxes, etc. into
the bin.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
Please save all of your box tops off of General Mills products and send them
to school. This is a great, easy way for our school to earn money.
