I have always had a love of learning. From a very small age, I knew I
wanted to be a teacher. I had several teachers impact me and show me how
fun learning could be. These teachers have inspired me to become the best
teacher I can be. Right out of high school, I began my degree in elementary
education. I graduated from Tennessee Tech in May of 2004 with a bachelor
of science in elementary education.
In August of 2004, I began teaching kindergarten at Stone Elementary. I
have been teaching kindergarten since. I could not imagine teaching any
other grade. I love being able to teach primarily hands-on in my classroom.
I use thematic units throughout my curriculum.
I have been married since 2004. I have a dog named Oreo. In my spare time,
I enjoy reading, writing, and spending time with my family.
I want to engage my students in learning. I teach them that learning is fun
by using the hands-on approach throughout my classroom. I hope to show each
child I teach that they can become and do anything they want with a little
determination. I provide a safe and loving classroom environment for all
students.
